Therapy Services

Therapy is a process that includes a therapeutic relationship between the therapist (Dr. Fearing-Afflick) and the client, identification of the therapeutic goal and the appropriate intervention such as Narrative Therapy or Cognitive Behavioural Therapy to meet the goal(s). This service will include ongoing monitoring of therapy outcomes to support the client towards their goals and may include therapeutic activities and reflections outside of therapy sessions. Therapy sessions can range between 5 to 15 sessions. In addition, brief caregiver support (up to 7 sessions) for parents/caregivers caring for a child with mental health concerns/disorders is available.

Therapy services follow the standards associated with the College of Registered Social Service Workers and Social Workers.

What to Expect

G.F.A. provides video or telephone counselling sessions. At your first session, you will be invited to review a consent form for service where you will indicate your choice of service and consent to proceed. Your consent form will be secured on a password protected platform.

During your session, Dr. Fearing-Afflick will keep track of the discussion, treatment goals and progress. In doing so, she may invite you to complete a questionnaire that helps to understand the presenting concern(s) further. When questionnaires are completed, you will receive a brief written summary of the results.

Payment of sessions are expected at the end of each session by e-money transfer and/or insurance billing.
